On This Day September 15th.

September 15: On this day in 1958, Joel Quenneville was born in Windsor, Ontario. Quenneville was the Leafs' first choice, 21st overall, in the 1978 Entry Draft and his first 93 games in the NHL were on defense with Toronto in the late 1970's. In a highly disturbing move amongst Leafs fans, he was traded to the Colorado Rockies by re-appointed Leaf General Manager Punch Imlach in December 1979 along with Lanny McDonald. Joel Quenneville won a Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche in 1996 as an assistant coach and then won the Jack Adams Award as the NHL's best head coach in 2000 with the St. Louis Blues.
