On This Day July 27th.

July 27: On this day in 1928, future Leaf Bill Johansen was born in Port Arthur, Ontario. He eventually changed his surname to Johnson so as to sound more Canadian. Johnson only played one game in the NHL and with the Leafs on November 26, 1949. His son Trevor Johansen was a first round draft choice of the Leafs in 1977 and played 132 games in blue and white. Father Bill passed away in March of 2001.
