August 30: On this day in 1971, Terry Clancy, the son of legendary Leaf Hall-of-Famer King Clancy, was traded by the Canadiens back to the Leafs - for cash. Terry had been traded to Toronto by the Oakland Seals in May of 1968 - for cash. In December of 1970, Clancy was traded to the Montreal Canadiens - for cash. He never played a game for the Habs. In October of 1973, Clancy was traded to the Detroit Red Wings - for cash. He never played a game for the Wings. In between all of these cash transactions, Terry Clancy played 86 games for the Leafs and recorded 6 goals and 6 assists.
