On This Day July 6th.

July 6: On this day in 1974, Steve Sullivan was born in Timmins, Ontario. Sullivan became a Leaf in February of 1997 as part of the trade that sent Doug Gilmour to New Jersey. He played 154 games with Toronto between 1997 and 1999, recording 85 points. When Pat Quinn became General Manager of the Leafs in 1999, one of his first moves was to place Sullivan on waivers in order to make room for Dmitri Khristich. Sullivan was picked up by the Black Hawks where his NHL career took off. Meanwhile, Khristich was a bust and essentially was booed out of town the following season.
