On This Day September 9th.

September 9: On this day in 1936, Bob Baun was born in Lanigan, Saskatchewan. Baun was a Leaf for a total of 739 games in two stints with the club between 1956 and 1972. He was one of the Leafs "Big Four" on defense during their Stanley Cup dynasty years in the early-mid '60's. With only 29 goals as a Leaf, Baun was never known as an offensive defenseman, yet he scored one of the most famous goals in team history on a broken foot in overtime of Game 6 of the 1964 Finals. Baun won four Stanley Cups with the Maple Leafs.
