July 28: On this day in 1957, Jim Korn was born in Hopkins, Minnesota. Korn became a Leaf after a trade with Detroit in March of 1982 for a couple of draft picks. Korn played both defense and left wing for the Leafs over 197 games in four seasons. The highlight of his career came on March 7, 1984 when he recorded his first and only NHL hat trick.

July 28: On this day in 1977, Aki Berg was born in Turku, Finland. Berg became a Leaf in March of 2001 when the Los Angeles Kings gave up on him and sent him to Toronto in exchange for Adam Mair and a 2nd round draft choice that became Mike Cammalleri. Berg played 325 games as a durable defenseman with the Leafs until the end of the 2005-06 season, after which he returned to his native Finland.
