June 20: On this day in 1975, the Leafs acquired center Stan Weir from the California Golden Seals in exchange for Gary Sabourin. In two and one half seasons in Toronto, Weir tallied 42 goals and 56 assists. Midway through his third season with the Leafs, he was sent down to the minors. He soon jumped to the WHA and was a part of the Edmonton Oilers team that broke into the NHL in 1979.

June 20: On this day in 1992, the Leafs selected Brandon Convery as their first round draft choice, 8th overall, in the 1992 Entry Draft. Future Leaf, Mike Peca was chosen 40th by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2nd round. Convery played 50 games as a Leaf over two seasons, scored 10 goals and was a minus-16. After not making the Leaf roster out of training camp in 1997-98, he was traded later in the season to Vancouver for Lonny Bohonos.
