December 24: On this day in 1979, the Leafs' General Manager for a second time, Punch Imlach traded away five year veteran and rugged right winger Pat Boutette to the Hartford Whalers for career minor-leaguer Bob Stephenson. As a right winger with the Leafs, Stephenson played only 14 games and had 4 points. With the Whalers in 1980-81, Boutette enjoyed his best season ever. He formed part of the famous "Stash, Dash and Bash" line along with ex-Leaf Blaine Stoughton and Mike Rogers. In his break-out year in Hartford, Boutette scored 28 goals and added 52 assists for a career high 80 points.
