June 16: On this day in 1962, Tom Fergus was born in Chicago, Illinois. Fergus became a Leaf in 1985 in a trade with Boston for Bill Derlago. The 1985-86 season was Fergus' first and best with the Leafs when he potted 31 goals and added 42 assists. During his time as a Leafs' center, Fergus was often hit by the injury bug but still scored 118 goals and added 179 assists as a Leaf between 1985 and 1991. After 357 games in a Leafs uniform, he was traded to Vancouver for cash in 1991.

June 16: On this day in 1990, the Leafs selected defenseman Drake Berehowsky as their first round pick in the Entry Draft, 10th overall. It was the same year that New Jersey made Martin Brodeur their first pick, 20th overall. Berehowsky played 124 games for the Leafs between 1990 and 1995 when he was traded to the Penguins for Grant Jennings who lasted 10 games as a Leaf. Berehowsky returned to the Leafs for a brief 9 game stint in 2004.
