On This Day May 11th.

May 11: On this day in 1999, former Leaf draft choice from 1997 Adam Mair made his NHL debut in Game 3 of the Conference Semi-Finals against the Pittsburgh Penguins. He became one of only two Leafs in team history to play his first NHL game in the playoffs and score a goal in that game. The other was Les Costello in 1948. Mair played in 5 playoff games that year and helped the Leafs get past the Penguins and into the Conference Finals against Buffalo. Adam Mair would go on to play only 24 regular season games as a Leaf, recording 1 regular season goal and 2 assists. He was traded to the L.A. Kings in 2001.
