September 28: On this day in 1962, Hall-of-Fame goaltender Grant Fuhr was born in Spruce Grove, Alberta. Fuhr was traded to Toronto in September of 1991 from Edmonton and played 95 games for the Leafs over the next season and a half until Felix Potvin was ready to assume the number one job. His record as a Leaf was 38-42-9 with a less than impressive 3.50 G.A.A. Fuhr retired in 2000, having played for a total of six different NHL teams and having won five Stanley Cups, all with Edmonton.
