On This Day April 4th.

April 4: On this day in 1933, At 1:48 a.m diminutive Ken Doraty of the Maple Leafs ended the longest game in Leafs history with the only goal of the game in the 6th overtime period to eliminate the Boston Bruins in the Semi-Finals. The Leafs hopped on a train and played Game 1 of the Finals in New York against the Rangers the same night. 

April 4: On this day in 1963, the Leafs and Canadiens hooked up for Game 5 of their Semi-Final series and the powerful Leafs proved to be too much of a challenge for the Habs. Dave Keon scored twice along with singles to Dick Duff, Ron Stewart and Calder trophy winning defenseman Kent Douglas. Johnny Bower earned a shutout as the Leafs ousted the Habs with a convincing 5-0 victory enroute to their 2nd consecutive trip to the Finals.
