February 20: On this day in 1944, the Maple Leafs and the Chicago Black Hawks played the only scoreless and penalty free game in NHL history. Mike Karakas earned the shutout for Chicago while Paul Bibeault recorded the zero for the Leafs. The game was played in just one hour and 55 minutes.

January 15: On this day in 1967, the Leafs had fallen to fourth place after a team record-setting 10 game losing streak that stands to this day. Here were the standings:

February 20: On this day in 1972, the Leafs sent rugged defenseman Jim Dorey to the New York Rangers in exchange for left-winger Pierre Jarry. A native of Montreal, Jarry's only stint with a Canadian-based team was in Toronto for 104 games until November of 1973 when he was traded to Detroit. He scored 24 goals and assisted on 30 more with the Leafs.

February 20: On this day in 1999, the Leafs played their first ever game in their new home, the Air Canada Centre. The Leafs won 3-2 over the Montreal Canadiens on an overtime goal by Steve "Stumpy" Thomas. The first Leaf goal scored at the A.C.C. was by Todd Warriner.
