September 27: On this day in 1935, Gary Collins was born in Toronto, Ontario. Collins is of a rare breed of players and the only ever Leaf player whose entire NHL career was played in the playoffs. He played 2 games for the Leafs in the 1959 post season, did not record a point and never played another game in the NHL.

September 27: On this day in 1937, Wally Boyer was born in Cowan, Manitoba. Boyer played the first 46 games of his NHL career as a Leaf rookie in 1965-66. He scored 4 goals and added 17 assists as a defensive center. Boyer was lost to the Blackhawks in the Intra-League draft the following summer.
