September 7: On this day in 1936, Orland Kurtenbach was born in Cudworth, Saskatchewan. Kurtenbach's playing days with the Leafs were a bit different in that he played a complete schedule of 70 games in 1965-66, but never before and never after. As a Leaf, the tough Kurtenbach had 15 points. He went on to become the first ever captain of the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL.
September 7: On this day in 1981, Luca Cereda was born in Sementina, Switzerland. Cereda was the Leafs first round draft choice, 24th overall in 1999. He never played a game in the NHL.
