October 24: On this day in 2005, the Leafs defeated the Boston Bruins 5-4 in a shootout. It was the first shootout victory in Maple Leafs history. As at the end of the 2007-08 season, the Leafs have played the Boston Bruins 621 times since the Bruins joined the NHL in 1924. The Leafs have an all-time regular-season losing record against Boston of W-256, L-263, T-98, OL-4. Toronto has won 8 of the 13 playoff series in which the two teams have met for in NHL history, but none since 1959.
