November 24: On this day in 1934, the Leafs won their 7th straight game from the start of the season, a 3-2 decision over Detroit to extend their 1934-35 season record to a perfect 7-0-0. It was their final scheduled game for November. They won again on December 1 to extend their winning streak to 8 straight games before finally losing to Detroit on December 2nd.The Leafs finished their strong season with an overall record of 30-14-4.
November 24: On this day in 1935, ex-Leaf goalie Eddie Johnston was born in Montreal, Quebec. Johnston sandwiched a brief stay with the Leafs of 26 games in 1973-74 in between several years with Boston and St. Loius. Eddie completed his 17 year NHL career with the Black Hawks in 1977-78, having had his name engraved on the Cup twice as a Bruins goaltender.
