September 1: On this day in 1990 former Leaf defenseman Alex Levinsky passed away in Toronto, Ontario. He was 80 years old. Levinsky made his NHL debut on defense for the Leafs on March 3, 1931. He played 149 games for Toronto over the next 4 seasons and helped the club win their first Stanley Cup under the "Maple Leafs" banner in 1932. Levinsky inherited the nickname of "Mine Boy" as a result of his father attending games and yelling "That's mine boy"!
